Reminders for a Fun and Safe Summer at Cook Park
With the arrival of warm weather, more people are using Cook Park. Now is a good time to read up on the rules for Denver parks, and how to report issues to the city. As a reminder, dogs must be on a leash and pet waste must be picked up and disposed of in the dumpsters. To report a dog off leash, you can always call 311 or more specifically, Denver Animal Protection Officer Dispatch at (720) 913-2080.
Large groups normally require a permit and must follow the same standard other park goers are held to. Loud music or sound, fireworks, and firearms are prohibited in Denver parks. Glass bottles and containers are not allowed and all trash must be tossed in dumpsters or packed out.
If you suspect a violation, you should always submit them to 311 so the city can track each violation. You can call 311, or text “HEY311” or 439311 and you can chat with Sunny, the AI-powered chat bot. You can also use Denver 311’s website to submit complaints which gives you the option to submit a photo of the issue. In addition to 311, you can email Park Ranger Dispatch at park.ranger@denvergov.org. Please note, if you are witnessing a crime in progress or more severe violations of the rules such as possession of a firearm, you should call 911 immediately.
