An Inside Peek at the Revamped Virginia Village Center

Whatever you’re wanting — from tacos to pizza to pastries, or maybe it’s a kiddie pool or a garden tool, or perhaps you crave some yoga time or a fine red wine — soon Virigina Village Center (home to Ace Hardware) will be able to fulfill your needs. New retail is coming into the collection at the corner of S. Holly St. and E. Florida Ave., with the aim of making it the go-to gathering place for area residents.
As early as May, Lil Kickers, Basil Doc’s, and Virginia Village Liquors will be joined by YogaBox and Tia’s Taqueria as part of a renovation of the retail space. And more will be revealed as 7,600 square feet, previously home to Family Dollar, gets divided into three smaller spaces for food and beverage tenants.
BusinessDen reported Virginia Village Owner LLC purchased the center for nearly $13 million from the previous owners, who held the property for more than 40 years. The new owners are behind Oneida Park, a Park Hill dining hub that encompasses a full city block offering seven local restaurants (big shout out to Esters Oneida Park, sister to “our” Esters Virginia Village), along with service-based retailers, and a large outdoor courtyard.
Back in Virginia Village, developers envision a similar concept. In addition to bringing people out of their homes for stretching, swimming, sipping, eating, and shopping, visitors will also be able to hang out in a planned 10,000 square foot courtyard, complete with fire pit and children’s play area.
The exterior and common area makeover is projected to be complete in 2025, with the courtyard renovations slated for the first quarter of 2026.
