Reading & Listening:
Playaways: Playaways are small MP3 players loaded with fiction and nonfiction audiobooks for kids, teens, adults, and Spanish speakers/listeners. Tiny and lightweight, they fit in a pocket or a bag. Just add headphones and you can listen to them anywhere.
Libby: Free digital books, audiobooks, newspapers and magazines available whenever and wherever you need them.
Denver Business Journal Portal: View current issues of the Denver Business Journal, the latest business news and the Book of Lists, and search the archives of Business Journals throughout the country (full-text content is limited to Denver Business Journal only).
The Denver Post Collection: Provides numerous ways to search and read the The Denver Post.
Consumer Research:
Consumer Reports: This web-based, easy to navigate resource provides ratings and reviews, buying advice, and recommendations for thousands of products and services, including cars, appliances, electronics and more.
Homework & Job Help:
Tutor.com: Provides online, on-demand academic tutoring, homework help, and test preparation to kindergarten through 12th grade students, plus early college students, adult learners, and support for job seekers such as resume help and more.
Language & Learning:
MakeMake: Includes 800 high quality, authentic Spanish language children’s books. You’ll find picture books, read-along books with audio, and interactive eBooks complete with a Spanish language search and interface.
Mango Languages: Learn a language through building skills in vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, culture, comprehension and retention.
Udemy: A learning platform that offers a wide range of on-demand courses and certification prep in business operations, cloud computing, cybersecurity, IT operations, data science, design, development, marketing, language learning, generative AI, and more.
Hours during Branch Closures:
Several neighboring libraries will be under renovation in 2026 as part of voter-approved Bond measures. To meet the needs of the community, the Virginia Village Branch Library will be open seven days a week. (New Hours: M/W/Th 9-6, Tu 9-8, F/Sa/Su 10-5) The Central Library will also be expanding its hours later this year.
