Neighborhood Nights – a big success!

Thanks to all of the neighbors who came out for the inaugural season of summer food trucks at Cook Park! We had a great turn-out no matter if the weather was cool, sweltering or just right. People brought wagons, chairs and picnic blankets and really seemed to extend their stay beyond meals into socializing with their neighbors, often while kids ran around in the fields.

The food trucks ranged from Cheesesteaks to Turkish to Mexican to tasty dessert trucks. Eric Shahtaji, a local

musician, elevated the mood for the last few events. We plan to continue this event next summer and hope to increase the entertainment next year if anyone has recommendations for musicians that might be interested.

Thank you also to Councilman Kashmann’s office for helping to sponsor the event, the Cook Park Recreation Center for being so accommodating and Hand to Mouth Events for scheduling all of the trucks.
